The QWERTY keyboard distribution created by a newspaper editor and printer "Christopher Latham Sholes" in 1867 it was designed to reduce the likelihood of internal clashing of typebars by placing commonly used combinations of letters farther from each other inside the machine increasing his popularity in 1878 with the success of the Remington No. 2 Type-writing machine.
The DVORAK keyboard distribution was developed by "Dr. August Dvorak" patented in 1936, designed with the goal of maximizing typing efficiency, according to a study of the MIT
Dvorak found that it took an average of only 52 hours of training for those typists' speeds on the Dvorak keyboard to reach their average speeds on the qwerty keyboard. By the end of the study, their Dvorak speeds were 74 percent faster than their qwerty speeds, and their accuracies had increased by 68 percent.
I personally choose Dvorak cuz the ergonomics, practically started learning in parallel with Software Development with Dvorak keyboard training it's friendly, I noticed it kinda heavy but maybe is cuz my network speed, at first I felt super slow, but now I feel comfortable, the only thing I could say is not a pro is that the shortcuts were designed around the popular but inefficient QWERTY.
Happy Typing 😄
